Helen Ingham  MA. Gmus. LRAM. FTCL FTCL. ALCM   Principal Tutor 


Helen graduated from Huddersfield University in 1984 and  was awarded the Michael Kruszynski prize for outstanding progress 1983/84 gaining her masters degree in performance in 1994. Helen went on to become head of music at St Peter & St Pauls Chesterfield and SLP College in Leeds.

 

Helen teaches piano, flute, saxophone, clarinet, singing, keyboards, music theory and musical theatre, is a lecturer, arranges and scores for vocals and full bands, she is also very much at home in the recording studio having co-produced many instrumental and vocal albums. She is a lover of local festivals and is very keen that RMC students take part whenever possible.

 

Helen is also the director and musical director of the RMC Theatre Company, now in its fifteenth successful year. Helen has performed recitals as a pianist, flautist and singer, she was artistic director for Greenway Musical Theatre Group 1984-2002. She has recently accepted the invitation to return as musical director for the Chesterfield Operatic Society where previously she  produced and directed musical theatre from 2001-2006.

David Hirst

We're pleased to welcome David  to Real Music Centre. He is first and foremost a highly accomplished musician, his experience gained from session and live playing means he brings to teaching an understanding of each individual students expectations, whether learning for pleasure or taking Grade exams. BOA with Honours First Class Huddersfield University, ensemble performance, and Diploma in musical performance. 

David has some availabilities for both Acoustic and Electric Guitar

Alvin’s experience in the music business spans three decades as an accomplished guitarist, composer and keyboard player, his list of guitar students is in demand with few availabilities so contact us soon whether working towards grade exams or for personal pleasure.



In addition to his substantial catalogue of songs including the musical The Power & The Glory which which won a writers commendation for himself and co-writer John Crellin.  Alvin is an accomplished arranger and brings to Real Music Centre a passion for creativity and the desire to encourage excellence  in every area of music.
